When I Grow Up

Approaching the US 2024 election, I made this in response to my increasing anxiety and fear of the governing bodies that intended to reinstate laws to control a woman’s bodily autonomy. This work communicates how the abortion ban objectifies a woman’s body into a mere vessel solely for child bearing. Her dramatic pose exaggerates the objectification, and I printed on opened envelopes and included postage stamps on the woman’s body to further demonstrate her body as a vessel.
