This print is based on the concept of public vs. private spaces and how they can be separate entities yet also coexist in the same space. I depict this through the act of shopping, showing the contents of the subject’s basket. While the store is a public space, the items in the basket hold intimate and private meanings that are known only to the shopper. I further emphasize this contrast between private and public by including visibly intimate items such as underwear and period pads in an unobstructed view.
